HOBBIES
Through the sport of boxing I have competed at many levels of competition including several bouts for Ireland. The nature of the sport has tailored my desire to be successful and I feel that my success in this sport is a testament to my dedication to training and ability to compete as an individual. Due to my success within boxing I won Sports Personality of the Month October at the age of 13, currently the youngest to have achieved this award.
Gaelic football and hurling are other sports that I participate in, yet differ to that of boxing as they are team sports. With Gaelic football I was selected as captain of my local club Maghery Sean MacDermott's at minor level where I guided them to League success. In Hurling I was a starting player in the Tyrone Senior team which won the Lory Meagher All-Ireland championship playing on the most prestigious of stages for the sport, that being Croke Park. Within the club scene for hurling I have managed several underage teams and guided the U16's to both county league and championship success. Through both hurling and Gaelic football I have grown as a person showing that I can be both part as a team and a leader once called upon.
